General Meeting Minutes

Kendrick Grange

Thursday, March 21, 2013  3:30 p.m.

Executive Board Members Present: Sharon Harris - President, Richard Abrams-vice president, Chris Kowrach Treasure, and Jan Patterson Secretary

Executive Board Members Absent: Milt Patterson – past president

Others Present: Loeda Reil, Duane Chilberg

 1.      Sharon called the meeting to order at 3:30 p.m.

2.      The minutes of February 21, 2013 meeting were accepted as written.

3.      The treasurer reported that there is a total balance of $12,491.46 in our accounts.

4.      Committee Reports:

a.)   Sharon and Loeda reported that the Southwick book is very close on being ready to go to the printer.

b.)   Brick work on the Fraternal Temple is at a standstill until a lift is obtained so that the brick work can be finished on west side of the grange.

c.)   Chris reported that Marsha S. is working on DVD of historical buildings of Kendrick.  It is hoped she will have it finished so we can sell it at Locust Blossom.

d.)   Work on the JKHF area upstairs is moving along, some heating has been added.

e.)   Web site usage has increase around 30% in daily use since last year.  

5.      Old Business:

a.)   The display panels are being worked on at the shop class at the high school.  They are scheduled to be finished by the end of May.

b.)   Clean-up of the upstairs of the fraternal temple was a success. It was decided to send a card and a gift to Travis Weity for his help.

c.)    Loeda reported on the KJ&7 annual meeting that she attended in February.

d.)   Chris has been working on the memorial wall. It was voted on that our guidelines on having a picture and write up for the memorial wall will be a donation of $300.00 or more to JKHF. 

6.      New Business:

a.)   Chris and Sharon will be sending out another bulk mailing this spring about membership and also about future sells of the Southwick book.

b.)   It was discussed that we would not sell copies of the Idaho magazine since it is also sold at local stories.

c.)   IIo-Vollmer Historical Society is planning another tour in our area in the next few weeks.  They plan to tour the castle in Juliaetta and have lunch in Kendrick.  More information on this tour will be e-mailed to members when Sharon has a date and time. 

7.      Other Business: Sharon reported that a donation of a cord of wood and a birdhouse has been donated to be used for a raffle for the building fund.

8.      Next Meeting: Thursday, April 18, 2013 3:30 p.m.

9.      The meeting was adjourned at 4:00 p.m.
