General Meeting Minutes

Kendrick Grange

Thursday, July 18, 2013 1:00 p.m.

 Executive Board Members Present: Sharon Harris - President, Richard Abrams – vice president, and Jan Patterson - Secretary

 Executive Board Members Absent: Milt Patterson – past president, Chris Kowrach-treasure

 Others Present: Loeda Reil

 1.      Sharon called the meeting to order at 1:05 p.m.

 2.      The minutes of June 13, 2013 meeting were accepted as written.

 3.      The treasurer reported that there is a total balance of $10,342.04 in our accounts.

Committee Reports:

a.)   Publications Committee reported that we are still selling copies of the Southwick and Leland books.  A motion was made and seconded to have 10 more hard cover copies of the Southwick book printed.

b.)    Phase 2 on the brick work on the Fraternal Temple has been completed.

c.)   On the K-J Historical tour project Richard reported that he will be starting to work on signage for Juliaetta homes in the next few weeks.  The booklets for the historical homes and businesses of Kendrick have arrived; Richard and Sharon will be giving the booklets to local businesses to sell. Richard will also be giving a copy of the booklet to each home owner that is featured in the booklet.

5.      Old Business:

a.)   Richard is still checking on acquiring the free slide projector from Jerome.

 6.      New Business:

a.)   Richard and Norma attended the capitol dedication on July 10 in Lewiston. They enjoyed the many speakers and were able to hear many stories about the Lewiston area.

b.)   We discussed and voted to donate a Southwick book to the Nez Perce Historical Society and the Latch Historical Society

c.)   A motion was made and seconded to give pamphlets about JKHF and 10% off coupons on all books and DVD’s as our contribution to the KJ7 Welcome baskets.

7.    Other Business:

We discussed our future plans on working in the Arlene room.  A motion was made and seconded to hire a few young boys to help move some items from the back room upstairs to the Arlene room. Jan will be checking on finding some young men for the move in the next few weeks.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                

 8.      Next Meeting: Will be on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at 1:00 at the Fraternal Temple.

9.      The meeting adjourned at 1:45 p.m.
