General Meeting Minutes

Kendrick Grange

Thursday, February 20, 2014 3:30 p.m.

Executive Board Members Present: Sharon Harris - President, and Jan Patterson - Secretary

 Executive Board Members Absent: Milt Patterson – past president, Chris Kowrach-treasurer, Richard Abrams- vice -president

 Others Present: Loeda Reil, and Mark Mustoe

1.      Sharon called the meeting to order at 3:30 p.m. 

2.      The minutes of January 16, 2014 annual meeting were accepted as written. 

3.      The treasurer reported that there is a total balance of $12,003.22 in our accounts.  

4.      Committee Reports:

a.)   Publications Committee reported that we have sold 251 copies of the Southwick book, 12 copies of the hard bound Southwick book, 35 copies of the Leland book, and 107 copies of the Kendrick DVD.,10 copies Letters to the Front vol. 1 and 6 copies of vol. 11.

b.)   Sharon reported that our exposure on Facebook has been very positive with a usage of 1,054.  

5.    Old Business:

a.)  We were unable to have a report about acquiring the slide projector from Jerome, since Richard Abrams was unable to attend the meeting.

b.)  Juliaetta Historical Tour booklet is coming together slowly. We still need to gather some more pictures. We hope to gather all data for the Juliaetta booklet by the end of March.

c.)  Mark Mustoe and Sharon are going to work on putting the history and pictures that we have on Leland and Southwick on a DVD. 

6.      New Business:

a.)    Harold Silflow has donated a glass display case to JKHF. We discussed how we will move the case and decided to wait for better weather.

b.)    Loeda reported on her visit to the Anoka presentation. She reported that the Orofino Historical Society had a picture of the tramway in Kendrick and had boxes of Anoka pictures that were addressed to Lewis Jewelry in Kendrick. It was discussed that we need to ask if we can acquire these objects for our collections.

c.)   Jan will attend the LCHS board retreat on Sat. Feb. 22, she will report on the retreat at the next meeting. 

7.       Other Business:

a.)  Mark Mustoe reported that he is ready to submit the paper work to the IRS for 501(c) for the Southwick Historic Center. Mark also has checked into signage and has a good quote from Instant Sign Factory in Spokane. He hopes to have a summer fundraiser for the Southwick Museum.

b.)  It was also reported that Tim Parsley is checking with the county about signage for cemeteries.

 8.      Next Meeting: Change in date: Meeting will be on Thursday, March13, 2014 at 3:30 at the Fraternal Temple.

9.      The meeting adjourned at 4:10 p.m.
