General Meeting Minutes Kendrick Grange Thursday, August 15, 2013 1:00 p.m. Executive Board Members Present: Sharon Harris - President, Jan Patterson - Secretary Executive Board Members Absent: Milt Patterson – past president, Chris Kowrach-treasure, Richard Abrams-vice president Others Present: Loeda Reil 1. Sharon called the meeting to order at 1:05 p.m. 2. The minutes of July 18, 2013 meeting were accepted as written. 3. The treasurer reported that there is a total balance of $11,541.73 in our accounts. 4. Committee Reports: a.) Publications Committee reported on sales for the last 3 months: Southwick/Cedar Ridge History 186 softbound books and 11 hardbound books; DVD: Early Days of Kendrick 55 copies; Leland History 26 books. b.) On the K-J Historical tour project we are going to focus on Juliaetta for the next few weeks. c.) Fraternal Temple upstairs “Grand Room” renovation progress. Ron Coleman is putting the last coat of mud on the walls and ceiling and will be doing texture on the walls in the next few weeks. He then will be painting the “Grand Room”. 5. Old Business: a.) Richard was absent for our meeting so we had no report about acquiring the free slide projector from Jerome. 6. New Business: a.) A motion was made and seconded to donate a Southwick/Cedar Ridge book to the Daughters of the American Revolution. b.) We received from Shirley Lyons a Friendship quilt from the 40’s that was quilted by women from the Gold Hill area. c.) We discussed preparations for the Blackberry Festival on September 14. We will start setting up at 8:00 a.m. We will have a raffle, also have the Brick factory display and work at obtaining more history about Juliaetta. We also will be selling our local history books and DVD’s. d.) Juliaetta Historical tour booklets will be are next project. Sharon will try to get in touch with some residents of Juliaetta to obtain some pictures and history on Juliaetta. e.) Sharon discussed hosting a historical event in October with Gritman Hospital. This event will give Gritman a chance to show off the plans for the new clinic. The JKHF will have a display of early doctors and dentists of the area.
