General Meeting Minutes

Kendrick Grange

Thursday, November 21, 2013 3:30 p.m.

Executive Board Members Present: Sharon Harris - President, and Jan Patterson - Secretary

Executive Board Members Absent: Milt Patterson – past president, Chris Kowrach-treasure, Richard Abrams- vice -president

Others Present: Loeda Reil, and Mark Mustoe

 1.      Sharon called the meeting to order at 3:30 p.m.

 2.      The minutes of October 17, 2013 meeting were accepted as written.

 3.      The treasurer reported that there is a total balance of $10,652.93 in our accounts.

4.      Committee Reports:

a.)   Publications Committee reported that we have sold 210 copies of the Southwick book, 12 copies of the hard bound Southwick book, 52 copies of the Leland book, and 85 copies of the Kendrick DVD.

b.)   Sharon reported that our exposure on Face book has been very positive, helping with sales of our books and DVD’s.

c.)   So far we have had no sales on Amazon, but will continue our exposure on this web site for a few more months.

d.)   Building Committee reported that the grand room is being painted and will be finished in the next few weeks.

5.      Old Business:

a.)   We were unable to have a report about acquiring the slide projector from Jerome, since Richard Abrams was unable to attend the meeting.

b.)   Most of the legs for the display panels have been completed by the Kendrick High School shop students.

 6.      New Business:

a.)   Mark Mustoe discussed with the JKHF about his plans on starting a Southwick Historical Center.

b.)   We discussed about making DVD’s about the history of Leland and Southwick.  Sharon will talk to Marsha about the cost of making these DVD’s.

c.)   Sharon discussed about making signage to mark the sites of the rural area mills.  It was decided to discuss this at our next meeting when we start planning our future projects for the JKHF.

8.      Next Meeting: Will be on Thursday, January14, 2014 at 3:30 at the Fraternal Temple.
