General Meeting Minutes

Kendrick Grange

Thursday, November 20, 2014 3:30 p.m.

Executive Board Members Present: Sharon Harris - President, and Jan Patterson - Secretary

 Executive Board Members Absent: Milt Patterson – past president, Chris Kowrach-treasure, Richard Abrams- vice -president

 Others Present: Loeda Reil, and Mark Mustoe

 1.     Sharon called the meeting to order at 3:30 p.m.

 2.     The minutes of October 16, 2014 meeting were accepted as written.

3.     The treasurer reported that there is a total balance of $11,120.84 in our accounts.

 4.     Committee Reports:

a.)   Publications Committee reported that we have sold 1 copy of the Southwick book, 1 copy of the Leland book, and 1 copy of the Kendrick DVD.

b.)  Web site usage is around 48 visits per day.

c.)   Sharon reported that our exposure on Face book has been very positive with the usage also increasing.

d.)  Juliaetta Historical tour project is very close to being finished with Sharon and Loeda now working on a map for the book, and Marsha finishing up the DVD.  We hope to have the book and DVD finished to sell for Christmas. It was voted on and approved to sell the Juliaetta tour book and DVD for $25.00.

e.)   Chris has been busy working on the Kendrick and Juliaetta newspaper digitization project. Newspapers from 1920 forward will be on our web site by Dec. 15.

f.)    JKHF Museum project has slowed down due to the colder weather. Garrett Perry has repaired 8 doors upstairs.

g.)  Sharon reported on the donation of an organ for the JKHF Museum.

 5.     Old Business:

a.)   Sharon reported we collected around $2,465.39 in dues from memberships. We also discussed the number of returned memberships because many of our members go south for the winter months.

b.)  Jan reported on the annual Latah County Historical Society dinner and fundraiser.

c.)   Sharon reported on the success of the October Kendrick High School Student Community Service Day.

d.)  Richard is going to start working on placing the signage for the Juliaetta Historical tour.

 6.     New Business:

a.)                There will be a work day for a few hours on Saturday, Dec. 6

b.)                  We voted on and approved to have a Christmas sale of all our books for$5.00 off each book.

c.)                  We discussed our annual meeting and also about having an open house in the spring.

d.)                  Sharon reported that we have received all the material about the tramways.

e.)                  Mark Mustoe reported on activities at the Southwick Community Center.

f.)                   No meeting in December.

 7.     Next Meeting:  Annual Meeting will be on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015 at 3:30 at the Fraternal Temple.

8.     The meeting adjourned at 4:10 p.m.
