General Meeting Minutes

Kendrick Grange----JKHF 2nd floor meeting space

Saturday, July 11, 2015 12:00 p.m.

Executive Board Members Present: Sharon Harris - President, Chris Kowrach Treasurer, and Jan Patterson Secretary 

Executive Board Members Absent: Richard Abrams-vice president 

Others Present: Loeda Reil and Mark Mustoe 

1.     Sharon called the meeting to order at 12:06 p.m.

2.     The minutes of the general meeting May 2, 2015 were accepted as written. 

3.     The treasurer reported that there is a total balance of $30,838.03 in our accounts. 

4.     Committee Reports:

a.)   Publications Committee reported that we sold 2 Southwick books, 2 Leland books, 2 LFF; DVD’s 4 Juliaetta, 3 Kendrick and 1 Tram; tour books 10 Juliaetta and 11 Kendrick.

b.)   Sharon reported that our face book usage was over 2,003 in June and around 1,100 in July.

c.)    On our museum donations we have received some great donations from Pat Kuykendall, Lorraine Main and the James King Collection. We are in the need for bookshelves for our collections.

d.)  Chris reported that the web site usage has been consistent for the last 5 months at around a 110 visits per day.

e.)   Chris reported on the grants we have acquired from the Inland N.W. Community Foundation, ID Community Foundation, Latch County Community Foundation; Inland NW, and Precious Gifts.  

5.     Old Business:

a.)   We discussed our participation in Locust Blossom and were pleased with the many visitors that we had to the museum.

b.)  Sharon is working on getting signage for the museum. 

6.     New Business:

a.)   We discussed the need to work on getting a chair lift so that more visitors can see the museum.

b.)  Barb Paulson has donated some old school desks for our museum.

c.)   Sharon will talk to Marsha about videotaping the Locust Blossom parade.

d.)  Mark Mustoe updated us on what has been happening at the Southwick Center and invited everyone to attend their fund raiser on August 22 at the Southwick Community Center.

e.)   Sharon reported that we have had a donation of some theater seats.

f.)    Sharon is going to work on getting the logging and log drive videos to be sold by JKHF.

g.)  The Esto Perpetua award that was given to Sharon for her work for the JKHF will be on display at the museum.

h.)  We discussed our participation at the Blackberry Festival in Juliaetta on Saturday Sept. 12. Justine Cope will provide Juliaetta items for us to display at the JKHF booth.

i.)    We then assigned coverage for the museum Saturday hours for July 11th and 25th

7.     The meeting adjourned at 1:13 p.m.

8.     The next meeting will Saturday August 8th work session 9-12 Lunch/meeting 1:00 p.m. NO MEETING for Sept. 12---because of the Blackberry Festival.
