Annual Meeting Minutes

Kendrick Grange

Thursday, January 16, 2014 3:30 p.m.

Executive Board Members Present: Sharon Harris - President, Chris Kowrach Treasure, and Jan Patterson Secretary

 Executive Board Members Absent: Milt Patterson – past president and Richard Abrams – vice president

Others Present: Loeda Reil, Joyce Brocke, Mark Mustoe, and Dulce Kersting the new director of LCHS.

 1.      Sharon called the meeting to order at 3:35 p.m.

2.      The minutes of November 21, 2013 meeting were accepted as written.

3.      The treasurer reported that there is a total balance of $13,395.80 in our accounts. Chris also covered 2013 JKHF financial statement. Chris reported on future grants that JKHF is in the process of applying for in 2014. 

4.      Committee Reports:

a.)   Publications Committee reported on books sold in 2013.  245 Southwick books, 12 hardcover Southwick books; 105 Kendrick DVD,s; 34 Leland books; 9 Letters from the Front vol. 1; 5 copies of vol.2 of Letters from the Front. Sharon also reported she has reordered 100 more copies of the Southwick book.

b.)    Work on the “Home” area of the Fraternal Temple is going slowly.  We are hoping for warmer weather to be able to finish up the painting in the great room.

c.)    K-J Historical Tour project for the city of Juliaetta is a high priority for the JKHF in the following 

             year. Sharon and Loeda plan to talk to Juliaetta residents to gather data for a Historical

       Tour booklet and Jan will contact Donna Cope about getting early pictures of the area.

        Signage for the Juliaetta Historical Tour is nearly completed with a sign needed for Bruce Sherman home.     

d.)   Sharon reported that she was pleased with the usage of the JKHF face book page and is hoping to learn how to put pictures on face book for people to enjoy.  

e.)   Web site usage was reported by Chris to be steady with an average of 12 people per day in December.      

 5.      Old Business:

a.)   Sharon reported that the cost for doing a DVD of the Leland and Southwick area was higher than we expected. We discussed doing our own DVD within our own organization.   

6.      New Business:

a.)   Richard will contact Idaho Cattlemen’s Association about obtaining some cattle brand shingles.

b.)   It was voted on and approved to keep the same slate of officers for the JKHF for the next two years. Board Officers:  President-Sharon Harris

c.)  We worked on our Strategic Plan for the JKHF for 2014 by highlighting our priorities for the coming year.

d.)  Sharon has audited the JKHF for 2013 and they are in good order for the coming year.

e.)  Chris will be helping Mark Mustoe with the paper work to help set up a 501-C3 for the Southwick Historic Center.  

7.      Next Meeting: Will be on Thursday Feb. 20, 2014 at 3:30 at the Fraternal Temple.

8.      The meeting adjourned at 4:45 p.m.
